Looking for Paul's Chain advice

Red01,
You seem to be the authority on many, many issues.  How do you properly care for your chain?
I recently purchased new sprokets and a DID X-ring chain.  I have read several opinions on how to take care of the chain and I was wondering what you do to keep yours maintained.

Hey rg, I won't pre-empt Paul's response to your question, but I love your signature line

Thanks Gary, it is the motto I pretty much live by.  I don't slow down much and sleeping is for people who have nothing to do.
Maybe I should send Paul a pm?

HaHa,
This is akin to asking what oil is best to use. Should be a nice thread to watch...

Did you quit the second time, or are you still going?

Nah, the second ended 13 years ago. Don't think there will be a third.

Congrats on the 25 years, 15 long ones myself, she doesn't understand motorcycles.

For those of you looking to see what Paul said, here you go.

Quote
Keep it well lubed. I lube mine every other tank of gas (300-400 miles). I use the Honda stuff that comes in a red can because it's long lasting and doesn't have much fling, so things stay cleaner, longer. When the chain gets grimey looking, I clean it with WD-40 or Kerosene and re-lube it.

I get ~25K miles out of my last DID X-ring chain, a VM series.. The stocker lasted me ~15K. I've got a ZVM on it now, but it only has a couple K on it so far.

Thanks again for the advice, still have not made it by the Honda shop, going soon.
