Micron bolt on or HS Comp 1
« on: December 04, 2006, 11:48:54 PM »
Swapped pipes today between my B6 and B12 (B6 has the HS comp 1, B12 has Micron bolt on, stock mid).  Confirmed what I thought - the Micron is much quieter.  On a long trip with the B6, the drone got a little tiring (granted, the B12 will rev lower).  Trying to decide which pipe to sell the B6 with (the HS pipe was bought used, so its pretty beat up as the last guy wrecked his bike with it installed).  It is a toss up between sacrificing a few HP for a quieter bike that is a little more stealth.  The B12 with Stage II jetting and the bolt on Micron dyno'd at 115 HP.  How much more power can I expect to gain with the HS slip on/mid pipe?

I'm guessing the stock midpipe gives up 2-3 HP.  Going with the Micron for now, until I can get a replacement (maybe Zyclone)
