Need help with Bandit 600 rear wheel.
« on: June 13, 2006, 03:14:47 AM »
Hi guys, a big hello from the UK.
This is my first post so please be gentle with me!

I'm hoping you Bandit guys can help me out with a problem!
I need to know if the Bandit 600 rear wheel is fitted in the centre of the swingarm or is it offset to the left or right?
Or, is the swingarm offset in the frame?
The reason I need to know is I'm fitting a 1996 Bandit 600 4.50x17 rear wheel to my Honda cb900F,
(yeah I know its not a Suzuki but hey, I am fitting a Suzuki wheel) and I'm having trouble lining it up!

The Honda swingarm is offset 5mm to the left so I thought moving the wheel 5mm to the right would line it up but it doesn't.
I have the Suzuki wheel spacers and rear caliper bracket so I know the wheel is spaced as it would be in the std Bandit swingarm!

So, does anyone know whether the swingarm and rear wheel are in line or offset to the right or left?

Thanks guys, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure - but really, what difference does it make? You're using a Suzuki wheel in a Honda... you're going to have to rig the spacing to make it work in your application.

Hi Red01, thanks for your reply.
But it would help a lot to know!

If the 600 Bandit rear wheel is fitted centrally in the swingarm and in the frame
then I would know I need to move it 5mm to the right for it to be in line in my swingarm!
Simply put add 5mm to the left spacer and remove 5mm from the caliper bracket.
But I dont think it is as I've tried this and my rear wheel is not in line!
It just makes working out the alignment a lot easier.

Anyone else out there know?
