Valve Rattle
« on: November 08, 2006, 07:04:57 AM »
I recently purchased my first Bandit 600 K4 from some one I Know, it has developed a rattle which I have been advise is coming from one of the exhaust valves. I have booked it in to my local service centre but they cannot look at it until next week. They have advised me that it is possible that it has loosened or maybe it is faulty cam follower, the worst case scenario is that the valve stem is faulty and this would involve and new valve and a big bill (£). The bike has only done genuine 2000 mile and has been service as per manufactures intervals. The bike is now out of warranty Anyone else had this sort of issue.

Regards Dave

The bike is now at the garage, they have found the faulty part. It is the valve adjustment screw; it has flattened out opposed to being domed shape (hence the noise due to the gap increase) they are not going to strip down any further due to cost.  Hopefully there will be no damage to the valve itself. Need to wait a few days for part to come in   but then should back on the road
