Off on vacation but will be thinking....
« on: August 12, 2005, 06:56:56 PM »
....about which way I'm gonna go with the exhaust/jetting all week while fishing.  (Talk about obsession!)  :duh:

Want a simple bolt on can with no rejetting right now....bolt on because I don't want to dump the centerstand...it gets really useful when out on the road.  I like the HoleShot slipon setup that offers a CS bumper but don't like the painted mid-pipe - want SS...in that case I'd go for a full system (Yosh?) and rejetting.  Maybe just a TwoBrothers bolton and enjoy the sound for now (can't stand the stock sound....gears louder than exhaust?  What's that all about?  It's why I ripped the guts outta my GoldWing exhaust back in '76)  Ultimately, probably will be the Yosh Race full setup in the Spring with stage 2 jetting.  :monkeymoon:

Anyway, I've decided on matching orange tire warmers, umbrellas and bikinis.  So THAT'S settled at least!   :bigok:

Suspension?  Hmmmmmm....let's see....

Cheers  - see ya all next Saturday.

Holeshot's midpipe now comes in 304 Stainless Steel. The new midpipe does not have a centerstand stop on it like the older versions, but it does come with a centerstand stop bracket that you bolt onto the bike.

Yoshimura's 2G slipons also come with stainless midpipes, as do some other brands, but I don't recall who else does what as the Holeshot and Yosh are by far the most popular choices.

You don't HAVE to rejet with anyone's slipon, but you'll get a better running bike if you do.

If you're going to go with a full system, you might also want to consider the Brock/Hindle Bandit header. That's what won Fast Larry's Bandit header dyno shootout (sorry, can't find the link to the test, but ir was ~2hp up on everything else tested).

Thanks.... that big-assed round headlight and bars hangin' out.  Old farts like that stuff.  Gimme the ole standards.

Headed up to Wolf Lake, Westport, Ontario for walleye for a week.  Annual trip - only week of freshwater we do...udderwise it's stripers, blues and fluke here on Lawn Guyland.  Long Island's a nuthouse...need the peace and quiet.  heheh.

Cheers  :beers:

Nope....still an island but with all the damned bridges might as well be!  It's becoming 110miles x 17 miles of sheer gridlock.  can't stuff any more hewmans on the place.

I should quit my complainin'... my island only has one bridge and we often whine about that, but if we had more, it would only bring more evil cages to clog up our roads.

I think I've just been called an old fart!  Not the first time I suppose and not totally off-base!

I was just checkin' out Wolf Lake.  Looks cool!  I'll be just a little West of there next month for Pike.  Good luck!

Oooops!   :duh:   That's why the State Dept. won't give me a job.  Didn't mean you of course!

You're fishing the Rideau?  Great area.  Have caught some huge pike at Wolfe but not often.  Next month should be beautiful up there.  100deg. here today...85 up there.  Phew!

Catchya next week.  Outta here!  Keep the rubber down.

I don't know what the hell I was doing when I posted... well let's see, it was after 11pm on a Friday....   :bigdrink:   Another tragic case of PWI - Posting While Intoxicated!  I will be postively nowhere near Wolf lake next month.  I'm gonna be at Black Donald Lake in the Ottowa River Valley.  Was there a motorcycle somewhere in this thread???
