question about advancer

just got an ebay deal on an advancer for my bike , the first question is that it has an hp machined into it  does that stand for Holeshot performance  ? second question is reguarding fuel . from those who have used an advancer or done the free mod ,have you found a need for octane other than 87 ? thankyou Mark

YES
I have had myself my girlfriend and and a big backpack straped on the rack in 100º
heat and still run 87. All that weight is hard on sport bike tires though.
But like with anything... you need balance, good to have a pipe and/or jet kit/pipe with the advancer.

What Brent said.  I've been running the Holeshot advancer (& Stage II kit) for >40K miles.  Only use regular.
