PAIR mod removal?

Is our PAIR system the same as the exhaust gas reburn vavle refered to in the ZR-7 link above?  Anyone do this/or similar to their Bandit?  I did the mod to my old ZR7 and forund it did what it said it would:  eliminated the pops on decel with an aftermarket can.

from what I can see (i'm very tired so could have missed it) the bandit PAIR is a bit different. I didn't notice them really using block off plates. On the bandit there are four ports by the exhaust port which need to be plugged. I don't think useing silicone is an option in this sort of setup.
However removing the pair is still a quick process, and in my case took care of the decel pop.

+1.... although I took the cheap and easy way out.  I simply bought a couple hose barbs and coupled the 4 lines, plugged the vacuum line and removed the airbox line.  If for some reason I need to re-install the PAIR it'll be easy to do.  Funny thing is - I have block-off plates....   :duh:

 :motorsmile: ya well I think the way you went about it will make reinstall very easy...for me reinstall would be a pain... and i formed all my blockoff plates lovingly with a hacksaw and file. I promise I didn't swear at all during the entire process.  :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: and they look so beautiful I painted them flat black  :grin:

So it looks like with the ZR there are two exhaust ports, and the Bandit 4.  I was thinking as in the first pic in the link, #1 port hose goes to #2 port with the mod, which is the way I did my old ZR (rather than both going to the EGR valve).  The Bandit has four going the the PAIR valve.  I think I'll link one to three and two to four, remove the PAIR valve, plug the carb and air box line and report back.

Done.  Very pleased.  Shimmed the needles w/ two Radio Shack washers per while Ihd the tank off. Stock jets and air filter, Delkavic slip on.  She's pulling strong and sounding good.  Next project:carb synch which is seemingly impossible until I pull them and add extentions to the synch ports. Why the hell did they make them like that? Likely do the Jets too.
