Ivans jet kit for B6 instructions, tools?
« on: April 03, 2006, 02:03:55 PM »
Hello, I am reluctant to say that I will be purchasing an Ivans jet kit as I feel it is the only way I can get rid of my stock can and still have a smooth running bike with a nice tune to it. I am a complete newbie when it comes to bike but i have a basic knowledge about engines. I was just wondering how hard it would be to fit the kit and how long it would take? Also what tools would I need? and spare parts?

The most important tool is a good quality, sharp phillips head screwdriver.  You will need this for most of the project (loosening carb boots, taking apart the throttle housing for slack to pull carbs out, removing tops of carbs for the shims, and most important, getting the screws loose on the float bowls to replace the jets).  A small wrench to remove the jets.  Its a pretty easy job, take your time and read the directions well.  Figure a couple hours.

I know Holeshot will mail to the UK - or anywhere else on the planet.

I don't know if Holeshot has any UK dealers though... it's a fairly small outfit run by Dale Walker (owner), his brother-in-law Paul (welder/fabricator) and a gal to answer phones.

You should be able to adjust it to run with the stock can just fine - they're too lean out of the box - at least the ones in the USA are.
You may need to tweak a little once you put a can on it.
