Service on a '97 B6
« on: September 04, 2005, 05:19:45 PM »
I've just bought a 1997 B6, 5000miles and no service has been made...
First thing i did was to change oil and oilfilter, lubricate the chain and wash it...
What else needs to be done? And what is the standard service interval for the 97 b6 ? The chain looked ok, the tires are going to be changed soon...
Besides that i could'nt find anything out of the ordinary...

Change brake fluids.
Lube throttle & clutch cables.
Maybe change the fork oil, too.
Valve adjustment should have been done at 600 miles and will be due again at 7500. Since it's so old, you migght want to check it now, and go over the bike and make sure everything is tight.
