What besides an oil change?
« on: August 01, 2005, 10:24:00 PM »
My '03 B12 is due for an oil change. Are there other areas on the bike that need to be lubricated regularly? (Other than the chain)

7,500 - I'm going to have the valve adjustment checked, carbs synched, etc. in a couple of weeks. Just don't know if there are areas on the bike that need  lubed, greased, etc.

There's always simple stuff to clean and lube like: kickstand/centerstand, brake/clutch levers, etc.  Don't forget to change the blinker fluid.

Ah yes, blinker fluid.  One of the most neglected maintenance items.  Not changing this could get you into a very dangerous situation.

OK ..... Why not?

Synthetic or dino blinker fluid? Will friction modifiers make blinkers work too fast?

In my experience....the chicks dig dino.   However, you can get some really good stuff out of Madagascar...something about a 'squozen parrot paste'. Not sure that's really a word, regardless, you didn't hear that from me....

I always use KaleCo Synthetic Blinker Fluid!
Their cross-drilled brake hoses really help to keep your brake fluid cool, too!  They also add to the performance look of the drilled rotors already on the bike.
