07 1250 seats

Hey all, I'm back again with the seat issue.  Couldn't deal with the stock seat.  Got the Suzuki gel seat.  It has been 2 years (up to 11,600 miles) and I still can't ride on the hiway for more than a hour and half.  Twisties I can go for around 2 hours and that is it, (kills my but).  Funny thing is, after 2 hours and pain from my bike, I can jump on my kids 250 ninja and go for another 2 hours with no pain at all.  Has anyone had this issue?  Has anyone gone to a local shop and had the original seat re-done.  Any suggestions for different manufactures.  I'm around 5'6" and 150 with 31" inseam.  Seat is in the low position and have a Holeshot lowering kit.

If you haven't already have a quick look on the Banditforum, I'm pretty sure there have been a few on there who have changed their seats on the 1250's

A lot of folk opt for a viper seat with earlier model bandit, however I'm not sure if they make seats for the later models.

Perhaps it's the riding position that is uncomfortable for you? The Ninja 250 would take weight off your rear and put it on your wrist and lower back/leg muscles being a smaller and more aggressive riding position.

I got a Sargeant seat; better, but still a problem.  Might try Corbin next or seek out another alternative.  The AirHawk just seemed weird when I looked at it; anyone got any experience?

yeah the stock seat is HORRID! i like to do long days and after 60 miles in the seat i was hurtin'!

looked into sargent but $350 was out of budget. read up on spencer's seats (greatdaytoride.com) and heard enough good feedback figured what the h*ll?

for a $100 labor (you pay shipping both ways) it is a HUGE improvement. i am sure sargent would be even moreso but bang for buck, i am pleased. did 200+ miles first day had it. NEVER ONCE wanted out of the seat. next day was 400 and some miles. was a bit sore at the end of the day, but not bad. third day (these are consecutive) i did 250 and had some issues but that may have been due to the previous day, i don't know.

this was last weekend and i have a spent rear tire so no testing any further until it's replaced.

I have put in a couple of 12 hour rides on my Seargent and it has been great, although there was a fair bit of off road on those days so I was standing on the pegs alot, moving around makes a huge difference.
 I highly recomend the Seargent if you can afford it

Corbin seat will make a big difference.......they are a hard, firm, seat but a firm seat is better (on a bike too!) 

To the original poster.....don't you want to get off for a break or fuel after 2 hours anyway??
