If I'm not mistaken the V-Strom 1000 is a bigger/heavier bike....can't see how it could "handle" better than the Bandit unless you mean offroad stuff. Isn't the front wheel larger too??
According to Suzuki's published figures, the V-Strom 1000 is longer, taller & wider (probably only at the handlebars though, hard to think a Vtwin would be wider than a transverse inline 4 of 25% more displacement) than the B1250. The big V-Strom is 26-35 pounds (11.8-15.9 kg) lighter than the B1250 & B1250ABS though.
Yes, the DL-1000 has a 19" front wheel. Both of it's tires are narrower than the big Bandit (110/80R19 & 150/70R17 vs 120/70R17 & 180/55R17), so that, along with the wider bars, may make it easier for it to change direction.
