Hi Mick, happy new year to you and Donna. I'm not going up but MRA has a large group going up on Thursday leaving from the city. More details on their website. While you're at your keyboard next perhaps a letter to your local member re the relevant issues[ lane splitting, $50 levy, front plates,etc.]. If we say nothing they'll assume we don't mind and do what they like. Keep happy
If you can't ride today, try and have a good day anyway!

Sorry guys, the treasurer and I will be going to Jingelic for the annual "Jingelic Gathering", I believe it used to be a 'proper' full on rally, but the organisors couldn't get liability insurance and stopped 'organising' it. Now anything from 50 to 100 people 'gather' at Jingelic for the weekend.  A few of the Redbacks are going for the full weekend, but we'll only be doing it as a day ride - zero babysitters.

However even Jingelic maybe out of the question depending on how my my back is.  No it's not shaggers back.   I decided to wash the B12 and M750 on Monday, the first wash either has had in a few months.  Anyway, I'd just finished cleaning the rear wheel etc on the B12, stood up, turned and then I heard a small snap and couldn't move my back.  The Treasurer, being the real biker she is, said "well aren't you going to finish washing the bikes, remember what happened last time you didn't take them for a ride after washing them".  To which I very politely and calmly replied "No, I think maybe you should take me to the Hospital".  So after I took the bikes for a quick, and painful ride around the block, I went to the Hospital at 3:00pm, at 7:00pm I saw a Doc, then at 9:00pm he sent me home with some really good drugs and the words "It's only muscular but, Don't go to work, don't ride your bike, don't stand for too long, don't sit for too long, basically don't do anything.  So for the last 2 days I've been sitting/laying on the lounge yelling a my kids and sleeping.  It's not feeling to bad today and hopefully it'll be right for a quick ride on the weekend, and more importantly I hope it's right for the long weekend.

Bad news there Mick hope ya is feeling betta soon.
As for ya back mate, don't bother to much what the quack says about riding, my back quack, now reckons it s the best thing, (riding your bike)
gently of course. The worst thing you can do is not move, so we all know that riding a motorbicycle involves just about every muscle in ya bod.
Having had a 10 year histroy, of a bad back, and the secret is keep it smooth and gentle, if fact ride like are riding in the worst slippery type weather. The last time my back did a bunk, they taped me up and said I'd be of work for at least a month, 4days I was fine, no drugs, well a bourbon or 2 as a muscle relaxant, and a 400 k ride up in the hills in Victorias worst rainy cold weather did the trick. On the 3rd day I walked into the quacks office under my own steam, he nearly shyte, and said what ever you have been doing keep doing it, and having known me for some time, then said don't tell me you went riding in this weather.
He also being a motorbicyclist does see the theraputic value, for a good smooth gentle ride. So bloke its all good, go for a ride, just smooth and gentle, keep the back moving or you will be in big trouble.
get well soon, and hopefully with a grin on ya chin. :bigok:

Thanks Bloke, I'll take your advice and, providing we don't have another 38C plus day I might just take the bike out Friday.   Oh, the really shitty thing, that I didn't mention, is that I'm on fuggin holidays.

No, and it's not first time I've taken holidays and ended up either crook or injured - maybe God is trying to tell me something :?:  :?:

Yes Mick, God is saying if you don't have a job it's not holidays it's "free time" and what do we do whith our free time? WE RIDE MOTORBIKES!!! So quit, it's justifiable!

The only floor in your logic Wizud, is that without the job I won't have the money to enjoy my free time.....catch 22

However, the back is feeling much better, it's still sore, but at least I can now walk, drive the car and more importantly ride the bike.  The downside to all this is, yes Murphy strikes again, we had a fuggin great storm today so riding was out of the question :crybaby:

It can rain as much as it likes until Friday, that'll give the roads a chance to dry out for the weekend.......except of course....rain means the grass will grow which means I'll have to mow the lawn....and don't even think about suggesting that the 16yr old do it.....by the time I've finished argueing with him about it I may as well have done it myself....

Then again, he does have the Learners Permit for the car, and he needs someone to teach how to drive......

Dont remind me of the fuggen lawns, sick to death of mowing twice a week. As for the fuggen kids, learning to drive, hmmmmm how do I say this nicely. F*#* it why be nice. F*#* off learn in a driving school car, ya not fuggen ours. The eldest step daughter is coming of age, and will soon be gracing our roads, god help us all. Hopefully she will remain poor and not bother, having moved out, and paying her own way, (yea ha) love her, but gee, its nice not to be at logger heads every night. :beers:
Oh I'm told she might be come on the redback rally too, F*#* and I thought when they moved out, meant they dont want nothing to do with us oldies. :duh: I'm getting confused. :duh:
