Yep,  My dad was a fiercely proud Yorshireman, but he was even more proud to be an Aussie.

When Australia played the Poms in cricket he always hoped that if a Yorkshireman was bowling he'd take 10 wickets, or if a Yorkshireman was batting he'd make a tripple century, just as long as Australia won the match.

How about the Rugby League? Yorkshire was the home for the game. Is there the same feeling as with the cricket?

No dad wasn't much of a fan of Thugby. He was more of a Union man.
one of his quotes was

"Rugby is a game played by Thugs for the pleasure of Gentlemen, League is a game played by Gentlemen for the pleasure of Thugs and soccer is a game played by Thugs for the pleasure of Thugs"...

He did enjoy watching England getting beaten by the Aussies and the Kiwis, but would get really pissed if the French won anything.
