That dealers seem to know very little about the 1250? I have visited about 8 or so dealers inSouthern Ohio, Northern kentucky and western Indiana looking for/at the new 1250 Bandits. Many had not even ordered them. Of the ones that did, some have not even sold one. None had in stock, or had even ordered, an ABS model. One didn't know you could adjust the seat. One knew it could be adjusted but had no idea how. None knew about the tight clearance on the oil filter, or knew of any special Suzuki tool for removing it. I'm sure none have adjusted the valves on one yet. None could tell me about any accessories that might be available. I know it's a new model but sheesh  :duh: it would be nice to find a knowledgable well stocked dealer.

Ferret, I guess it is different dealers.  My dealer has had and sold 5 or 6 including mine.  He said he can't get enough of them.  Perhaps it is because the Bandit is not a "big ticket" item.  Dealer may make $500-$800 on a deal and make $2-3,000 on a Gold Wing or cruiser...my guy believes in selling you a bike...never lets you leave until you buy and have a smile on your face.  :grin:  

I shop the other dealers around, but always buy from him.  There is a large motorcycle holding company from Tenn. or Arkansas that is buying up shops in this area.  I hear they own about 50 dealerships of all makes now.  My dealer said no to them and they offered him a BUNCH for his business.

BR I think it must have something to do with area of the country and length of riding season. The dealers around here are already through with their selling seasons for the most part. If someone doesn't have a new motorcycle by now, chances are they will wait until next April, or try and pick up a left over bargain when the snow hits, and schedule pick up for next April depending on the weather Although I ride up until Jan as long as the roads are clear, most of the riders around here will be putting their bikes up by October.For them riding season is more than 1/2 way over.
