I'd like to put a 1216 kit in from JE Pistons with the 13:1 compression. I know, I know, I would have to run race fuel!

I didn't in mine.  Even ran 87 octane in it usually.  (I also had 3 muffin fans in front of the oil cooler to keep the temps in check too, though).  But I had the JE 1216 kit, head work, and competition? cams (IIRC) among other things.

I am lokking to do some cheap perfomance mods to my 97 b12 already has stage 1 jet kit and yoshi slip on was thinking about gsxr 750 cams but dont know where to look . Is it a hard mod Im pretty much a gear head but know little about bikes do you think it would be something i could takle or shoulod i take it to a pro

Or your favorite Suzuki parts source... you just want cams for a 88-89 GSXR750R.  You will have to use the Bandit's cam sprockets, the Bandit's is different than the GSXR.  If you can change cams in a car, the Bandit should be pretty easy, just be sure you have a manual.

Time to revive this thread.  I ran last saturday, first time to strip this yr. Also first time on bandit.  learned alot, lots more to learn.  10.7ish best 133mph top,d out in 4th. Need lots more swingarm on unicycle.   sandy
