Grip length for 1g b6?
« on: October 19, 2005, 12:23:44 AM »
What length grips best fit on a 1g b6? I have been using Grab-on style grips for over 20 years but have decided to try something different. For rubber grips, do you have to trim anything on the throttle tube?

Standard street grips... dirt grips are usually closed on the ends, but you could use them if you find some you like, you'll just have to open up the ends so you can put your bar ends back on.

IIRC, there is a ring at the inboard end of the throttle tube that needs to be removed for aftermarket grips. If you decide to install grip heaters while you're at it, there are ridges on the tube that need to be trimmed flush.

I used Pro-Grip gels... I forget the number, but they have a bunch of different styles to choose from and are inexpensive as well as long lasting.

I actually went out and measured my stock grips before I ordered my gel progrips.  They were 120 mm.  I ordered the ProGrip 724 and they just came in and I haven't had a chance to install them yet.  If they are as good as Red01 says they are I can't wait to get them on there.
Wait for me!!
