Latest report on the 009 Raven I mounted on my rear wheel back @ the end of 06. A few miles short of 5k on it, and a recent trip to Wolf pen Suches valley GA area and back its still not anywhere close to the wear bars. Estimate another 3k? The OEM Bridgstone BT056 front is about to be changed at the same time. Riding in crooked road country I found it rock solid! except for the gravel streams that seemed to fall out of what ever was carrying it only in the tightest corners, the ars puckering roll over em, slip, grab was reported by all I rode with. I'm sure there are some that can eat these up faster! I got over 5k on the OEM rear, some Busa riders get less than 3K. They still rock IMO. I got another set ready to mount.

I just ordered my Shinko 009s (front and rear) for my '02 B6.  Should be here on Fri/Sat!

Considering I'm replacing my stock tires after the first 5 years/10k miles...

Quote from: "Daytona"
Hey i maybe crazy but the other day i got caught in that just drizzly with the roads slick as snot black ice hasn't rained for a while slick road! You know! So thought i would try the grip of the stinko rear. Stuck like glue. Hit it in 4th from about 40 stuck, down to 3rd and just stuck and went until the rpm hit abour 6k then it started to slip. But thats hookin about 145 HP to the rd. I say stinko's rock even on a Busa!

Your 100% right there, Ive been using the 005's on the rear of the REX, But this time round I've tried the 009, awesome, and with the 005 on the front just like the B6 it even turns in. :bandit: "Shinko"  the best find , I've had in 30 odd years in motorcyling
Foot loose and fancy free.

About 3000 miles on mine... no visible signs of wear.

Again, I'm pretty easy on tires.

Shinko 005 - Ebay

(The 005's are more expensive than the 009's)

I am on my 2nd front, and 3rd rear SHINKO.  I LOVE THEM!!  Easily get 6000 plus miles out of them.  Incredible traction, even on wet, salt, and snow and icy roads (all of these at once, Gotta love the Chicago area!)

Current mileage - 8,300 of hard riding... this baby hasn't been babied.
When you say "hard riding" what exactly do you mean?
A lot of leaned over twisty riding or mostly highway?
I don't know of a tire with enough grip that will last 8,000 miles.

Yea its me! I still don't own stock in em either! They stick better than alot of the claimed sticker's. But the $$ is moving up for US anyway! Our own fault our dollar ain't worth squat anymore. I'm tryin the storms  for now. 129.00 + shipping.  for a 190.

I would describe "hard-riding" as a combination of corner carving with lots of straight-line acceleration and the occasional front end lift.  Pretty much anything goes with the exception of burn-outs... YMMV
