Opinions in Shinko Tires?

Sorry for the overreaction, but I'm amazed the Shinko's have caused this much discussion.
If anyone cares, I bought a set of 009's shortly after posting that first message, way back on page 1.
I've since then put about 8,500 miles on them of what I'd consider fairly normal riding, with some rough stuff thrown in.
There's something wrong with the front tire on my Bandit, it seems floating up off the pavement. 
Anyway, I love these tires and will be getting a set of 005's very soon.

Cheers to everyone riding (cheaply) on Shinko rubber!

P.S.: www.ridenow.com is still listing the 005 front for $59.99 and the 005 rear for $89.99, plus ~$20 for shipping, which I *think* is a bit cheaper than Iron Pony.

Ok here's my question...........

I have about 1/16 of an inch of chicken strip on my rear tire.....can you lean that far with these Stinko 009's WITHOUT them breaking loose on you??

You will discover the 009 gets rid of chicken strips pretty easily....  the tire profile puts you closer to the edge with less lean angle than other sport tires - keeping in mind this tire is more touring oriented.  With that said, I've never had any issues with the tire breaking loose under prudent use of the throttle.... YMMV and all bets are off if there's gravel or sand on the road surface.  Ride Safe.

Well, I've only got 6K easy miles on my OEM Macadams — but a big ol' bolt sticking out of my rear tire means time for a replacement.  I'm trusting that this many Banditos saying good things aren't going to lead me astray — so I'll be ordering a Raven 009 tomorrow.  (Much pricier at the local dealer than online, but I'd rather keep the money local and build goodwill with the guys who'll do my other service.)

Just picked up a roofing nail in my 009....... after a whopping 600 (six-hundred) miles.

That's only my 4th or 5th Raven... guess I'll be getting another one.

Az motorsports has the same set, in stock B12 sizes for $135, without shipping.  SOunds like a deal...

I got my back Raven 009 for $99 shipped from an Ohio-based eBay Store, and was very happy with their customer service and fast shipping.  So far, I've only run a 120-mile highway trip, but I did plenty of weaving in my lane when no one was around, trying to get enough lean to scrub the tires closer to the edges.  No complaints so far.

Got a podium for a winter tire, holding up nicely, still will replace with mic R2 when it warms up again.

I see that the walls of the 009 are really high! Anyone had any issues braking loose?? It is a definite turn down!!!! The 005 looks good but I want the long tread life. I guess beggars can't be choosers! so back to the question... braking loose??? any issues???

That is for sure! one won't fit all! For the $$ the 009 Raven will do it all well but it rocks for straight, long life (next to the Avon st) I thing you would like the 006 or the 005's! lasts longer than any sport tire and will corner with em to for half the cost.
