fixing a 00 b6 with bent fork
« on: June 19, 2006, 01:54:59 PM »
I recently purchased a 2000 bandit 600 and the left fork inner tube is definitely bent.  the steering is cocked just a little bit.

This is my first bike and I'm looking for opinions on the easiest way to get it fixed.
1) $500+ at the shop (parts and labor) for them to replace the left inner tube

2) forks from an online salvage yard ($450 for both) and I think I can handle bolting them on

3) mid 90s gsxr 1100 forks from ebay.  I've heard these will just bolt on as well and they handle better because they are inverted

Any input is appreciated.

Not so much just because they're inverted, but because they're higher quality and adjustable... and carry better brakes.

Since you need at least one fork leg, I'd do the GSXR swap! But you'll need the whole front end, including the triple clamps and fender.
