Request for speedometer info
« on: November 21, 2005, 03:05:43 PM »
Hi, as part of a streetfighter project I would like to replace the stock speedo with a mini speedo from Drag Specialties.  They sell 2 versions,
- 2240:60 ratio
and 2:1 ratio.

Does anyone know which one would be correct for a 99 Bandit 1200?

Thanks very much

Also available is a 1:1 ratio speedo.

OK, let me ask another question.....

Does anyone know of an aftermarket speedo (a small one, preferably) that would work on a 1200 Bandit?

Thanks!!
Tim

www.banditmania.co.uk has a nice digital speedo/tach that is quite small and looks nice too. Their site is down at the moment so I can't get a picture of it.

Thanks for the info.

FWIW, I took the advice of a friend and wrapped a little piece of tape around the end of the speedo cable, which is disconnected.  Then I put a piece of tape on the wheel.  As the wheel turns 1 revolution, the speedo cable turns 2.  I guess this is a 2:1 ratio.
