salt deposits?
« on: January 13, 2006, 12:02:31 AM »
I got alittle bit of salt that I thought I washed off under the engine.  It's on and around the oil pan.  Anyone know of a gentle way I can remove it while giving my bandit a good bath?

A little bit of soap and water does the trick. Either wipe it on or spray. Your choice.
2005 Bandit 1200, Modified Holeshot Stage 1 with 17.5 pilots 2.75 turns out, and 110 mains 5 shims. Muzzy Slip on w/mid-pipe, stock filter. 1.5" hole in the airbox lid.

A good cleaner/degreaser will work well.  I buy Zep Formula 505 (home depot sells zep products) mix it in a spray bottle 1/4 to 1/3 full with cleaner and add water to fill.  Works good, takes of light grease and road grime without hurting aluminum, paint, etc.
