A good thing...a bad thing...
« on: April 23, 2005, 05:18:32 PM »
Raining in Nashville today, I'll just drive over to the stealer and look around.  Maybe buy some new boots. Saw an '05 Bandit and it looks much, much better in the real steel than the photos.  Those were the goods things......Put my leg across a new 'Busa and instantly it was like seeing my wife for the first time.  Heart rate goes up, eyes slightly glaze and the stealer (damn him) says "I'll make you a great deal on your Bandit" ... Aaarrgghhh!!  What to do?  I love my Bandit...but....The 'Busa sings the Sirens song.................that was the bad thing...decisions, decisions...I'll think about it over the weekend, maybe he will sell both of them today...

Lynn,

Know how you feel but I just keep coming back to the bandit!  Just a good all around bike thats easy to work on, easy to modify, comfortable and economical to operate (insurance, gas).

There are other bikes that make my heart sing too but.....

Ya know Paul...that bike could be the reason that dealer prices on Hayabusas are dropping slightly.  More than slightly in some cases.  I'm going to print one of these B-King pics and carry it in my pocket.....another on the front of the little fridge by my desk..just next to the Lamborghini thats been there for five years...

Signal9...It was cold and rained like a big dog here, not the day to ride(actually it was just like the day I picked my Bandit up in Murfreesboro last October)...unlike earlier this past week when I was out every day....cya in Old Virginny...

Pushed your hot button didn't he, Dave....mine too.. :stickpoke:

Hey after much of WOW w. t. fudge.  is that!!!!   I tracked it down, B king. If it makes it toned down, its going to be so much we will all have a pic of it next to our exotic lambo or 63 split window your buddy found under the hay in a barn, in W.V. http://www.suzukicycles.org/Concept-Suzuki/B-KING.shtml

I'm not a fan of the Busa.  It looks great parked or going straight, but every time I've ridden with or seen one in the turns, I always think it looks somehow ungainly and awkward.
It's also very heavy and eats tires like I can't afford.

That's the other part of the equation Manny....I've not ridden one yet.  It was not a good day for a test ride last Saturday.  It did not have as comfortable a seating position as my Bandit for sure.  At least for me.  (I talk myself out of it as I type.)  I beleive that Paul nailed it with "wait on the B-King"...

edited to add:  and Dave with the increased operating expenses pointer.....

You have a dealer that will let you test ride a Hayabusa?!?

I guess it's not unheard of, but most dealers have to be pretty confident that you will purchase that particular bike before they let you ride it.
Our shop always only kept one of each bike uncrated and in the showroom, and those units were never prepped to run (no gas, battery, oil, etc).  That was key to dissuading a lot of joy riders.

Not only will he let me, he encouraged it...easier to test ride/drive anything when you are 62 and not 22...he also knows that there will be no having to arrange financing, etc......what he does not know is that I still revert back to 16 when I am riding...
