Hey all they are both zuki's what can i say! But hey i know this for a fact! and don't know why? Busa are the same on tires, get much better MPG, (43 to 49) weigh 3lbs more than the 1G B12, will do the top speed the B12 will with ease as its breezing by, My better half will ride for more time on my Busa than she ever would on the Bandit or 1400 Intruder, yes in the right hands a Bandit will dust me in the twisties!! But in the right hands the bandit vs the busa with just the right settings on the stock suspension maybe F-springs, BY BY Bandit!! No BS! Even ROB Robinson admitted the Busa is a hell of a Bike the other W. End we went to Jennings M/C park. But they are Both worth keeping next to your most treasured prized things you will ever own! This guy (VMan on his Busa) is Huge i hear and look what he does to all but the badest of the bad @ Jennings! But i will always keep a pic of my 98 B12 (link below)

A rider in our local club had a Busa and Bandit at the same time and rode both regulary on longer road trips and club runs. He liked them both but for different reasons. He "street fightered" the Bandit and still rides it at club events. He sold the Busa for 1000 V-Strom and rides that most of the time. Although he liked the Busa, he claimed it was causing tendonitis in spite of aftermarket fixes. He also said that someone on a Vstrom smoked him and his Busa at the Dragon, which is why he started looking at Stroms. After riding one, he was sold. He also claims he will never sell the Bandit. FWIW.

There is the human element that will always affect our choice in bikes as to what is best suited for us verses our need to express ourselves. I have no doubt that when you look at these two bikes without the human element involved the Busa was deliberately designed with more performance based technology then the Bandit.
A good example is my neighbor Bob's Honda CRF450x vs my DRZ400s. after trading rides on many all day off road excursions through all types of terrain it is clear to both of us that the CRF outperforms the DRZ in agility and handling at race speeds, but the DRZ's plush ride make it possible to ride all day without next day recovery (like Bob). I love riding Bobs CRF for the first 2 hours of any ride but that is about all I can take before my ass feels like anvil and I am ready to get back on my fat slow pony. I am sure as I get older my day on a V-Strom type bikes is coming.

my dad went from a 00 bandit to a 01 busa back to a 02 bandit. all the bikes are great but pick the one for ur needs. i rode his busa and 02 bandit numerous times and there both great bikes. i still prefer my 00 bandit.

Although I know it will happen, I can't imagine an experienced Busa owner chuck holing down to a B1250, as the B12 is an extensively tested platform with infinity more after-market options. I believe the B1250 is targeted at the first time baby boomer, not the return buyer unless it is a move due to Senility.

This BBS site is named BANDITalley, yet you have continually downgraded the BANDIT 1250 and insulted it's buyers everywhere on this BBS.

Calling us SENILE among other names is not a "personal opinion", it is a DIRECT INSULT. And "chuck holing down to a B1250" is most definitely INFLAMMATORY.

And I have NOT "attacked" you, only RESPONDED to your constant attacks on the new bike and anyone interested in buying one.

You keep trashing the B1250, and bragging to anyone who will listen how you're going to "step up" to a "superior" machine like the Busa, Ninja, or Connie. You condemn the B1250 left and right, yet you've never even seen one except for pictures.

Thank you Daytona..... you are very correct - this is embarrassing to everyone on the board.

Gunner - I respect your right to have opinions and beliefs.... that's what makes for different points of view to be shared. I also know how you feel about the new Bandit model coming out - we all do by now and unless you can start adding anything else constructive (notice I didn't say positive or negative) to the new Bandit converstion.... WE GET IT ALREADY. No need to constantly repeat your dislike of this platform.

Zen - Get your bike... ride the crap out of it and give us all some feedback. Many (even those not in the market) of us are anxious to hear opinions based on real world observations. In the meantime.... chill out and let things go a bit - isn't that what Zen is all about anyway??? Responding to every real or perceived slight is not necessary. Let the mods and admins take care of board violations.

There are very few rules on this board and we want to keep it that way. Good natured ribbing is allowed and to a degree encouraged.
