Ethanol blend fuels
« on: November 02, 2007, 07:39:55 AM »
Found this on another forum.  I note that they don't suggest running any Suzuki motorcycles (among other brands) on blended fuel.

Time to read the manual. My 2006 is fine on E10.
But I don't much like ethanol as fuel anyway. Too expensive to produce, too little return. If they make it out of biowaste, fine, but otherwise it's a waste of corn.

My '01's manual says it can handle E10.
IIRC, they don't call it E10, but say up to 10% ethanol belend is OK.
Still, I won't use it in anything I own unless I have no choice. I used to run it in my cars until I got a warning from a friend who is a long-time mechanic at a GM dealership and he told me of how many cars they get in with carb & FI problems from running it, so I switched. I noticed an immediate improvement in performance and economy when I went back to straight gasoline.

No, they conveniently leave out any reference to motorcycles.
