just read the CW article
looks like the new belt drive will eat rocks and survive!
plus buell says in thier manual it will last the life of the bike?!

can belts really be that much stronger and better than chains?
i mean all the japanese bikes are on chains.  It seems like buell is just making excuses for being stuck with an HD engine.  I still like the Ulysses though.

Belts are NOT stronger than chains. Maybe lower maintenance, since you don't have to lube them. Longer life - if the belt is big enough for the application.

There's a reason high horsepower bikes don't use belts... they have yet to develop a belt that can take the power and be narrow enough to be practical.
