Five killed in Motorcycle-Rickshaw collision in Okara
OKARA: At least five persons were killed and three were injured when a wagon rammed into a motorcycle rickshaw on the Renala-Shergarh road near Renala Khurd, some 15 kms from Okara.
According to police, Rasheeda Bibi along with her son, two daughters, and brother boarded the rickshaw from Chak 15/1-L where she was visiting her parents. Three other residents of the village also boarded the vehicle. Moments later the ill-fated 3-wheeler was hit by a speedy wagon coming from the opposite direction, resulting in the on-the-spot deaths of five persons including rickshaw driver Muhammad Akram, Rasheeda Bibi her son Waheed, Siddiq his son Ahmed, and Ibrahim.
The injured, identified as Fauzia, Sadia, Saeed, Liaquat, and Khalil, were rushed to the hospitals in Renala Khurd and Okara. The wagon driver escaped from the scene. Police have registered the case and are investigating.
I don't know if 'wagon' is a local term for truck....or something.
It's kind of hard to picture a speedy OX wagon.....
