SV 1000 value?
« on: July 22, 2005, 10:19:55 AM »
I have run across a leftover new 2003 sv1000, copper color. What should I offer them, It say's reduced on it, but it's still at 7599. Any ideas are appreciated. I think it would be a great chance to get something a little newer and sportier at a great deal.

Offer them $6700 - $7000 and see where it goes from there.  The SV's aren't selling all that well, and they may be willing to go along with your offer.

If not, wait until November or so, and you'll almost definitely be able to find one for that price.

I read an article in Cycle World awhile back that said Suz was giving rebates or full bodywork with a purchase.  I don't recall much about the rebate but I would check into the bodywork deal although it may have expired.

Yeah, I heard the same about the body work.

BTW, the SV in all black is beautiful.

Especially with the full-fairing.  The copper is cool but IMO, gets old quickly.

My current NADA book says $5990.00 is the current retail price of a 2003 SV1000S in good condition, $4800.00 is wholesale.  You can often get $1000 + discounts on brand new year end left over bikes.  I wouldn't offer more that $6K for the 03.

That's kinda the range I was thinking warren, appreciate the info.  I think I'm gonna see if it sits till the end of season, then offer them 5800 and go from there.

Nice bike, Josh.

FWIW, a new, '03, leftover NAKED SV1000 went recently for $5200 on Ebay.

There's a new '03 copper S model locally, but the guy doesn't have it marked down much, either.  (about the same)
