I may buy some of Dale Walker's Holeshot performance items for my B12 eventually, however,

Got he holeshot comp 17", got it cheap in the black and chrome version, from someone from here at BBS who never did the install. Wouldn't ordinarily of gone with the black powdercoated if i had gotten from dale walker first hand though. However, Im glad i did, the black allows you to buff out marks that the stainless doesn't. plus, the pipe stays cooler than the stainless. The comp 1 is louder than the street core but not as loud as the comp 2. I was a little concerned at first, cos the diff was significant I thought, but really, after about 6 months of riding with it, I LOVE IT! wouldnt go back to OEM and and it didnt really bother me, as i thought it would, at highway speeds, It seems past 80kPH you only hear the wind and motor mostly anyway. but love the sound when u crank it!... Yeah!.. thats what I'm talking about!
. Buddy of mine got one for his SV650 as soon as he heard mine, he loves it too. easy to swap fo the stock one too!.!
Highly reccommend it, Did install modified jet kit, but had too many probs in tuning, got all weird and lumpy on me, plus mileage went down alot. turned out mostly the advancer was the trouble, sometimes the timing from stock is not exactly where it should be so the 5 degree timing advancer can end up pushing your advance more than 5 degrees, i think mine was at around 8 degrees or so with the advancer installed. So yeah, it kinda put it out of whack.
Actually, I ended up with just the shims on the needles instead and I actually prefer it. when you crank it, its really responsive, almost.. SPRINGY! in acceleration when you really need it. PLus I have the mileage of stock, best of both worlds it seems, Im happy with it now, but certainly wasn't when my idle was off and had trouble keeping her idling when cold, the lowered mileage also hurt the pocketbook and took the fun out of it all. I figure an extra 10 HP is not really worth the cost elsewhere. I'm happy with my 106/107 Hp with slip on. ( its not like I was lacking in power anyway). I figure, I got the pipe and the jet kit for $300, so wether i fully use the jet kit or not, it still was an awesome deal.
Word of warning, if your idle is good prior to the slip-on install, DONT TOUCH IT! wether you install the full modified jet kit or just partially like I now have it. It can be real tricky, getting it to idle nice again. If you still have trouble with the erratic idle prob similar to what I had, go back to the stock advancer first, this quite often resolves the problem.
