I wish that Suzuki would change their shit policy from "official Suzuki dealer" to "licensed mechanic" so we can take it to real mechanics. I guess it would hurt their dealers so it's never going to happen.
One of the nice things about US law is a manufacturer can not demand their product be serviced by anyone specific unless the manufacturer is providing the service for free. This means it's completely legal for me to do my own service and they still have to honor any warrany claim.
OTOH, because of this law, Suzuki only offers a free 1 year warranty in the US, where many other countries get more. Don't know what the Canucks get, but in the UK, they get 2 years, but they can demand you have to take it to an authorized service point.
