Does anyone make decent leather winter gear? I haven't seen anything yet. I'd like to get something in leather for winter that brings CE armor in the elbows, shoulders and back (or at least a pocket inthe back that I can put one in), but I haven't found a thing.

Check the First Gear web site. They have leather as do with many other companies.

it was 30 degrees today and i rode the bandit to mother in laws, only thing i need is some thicker pants as jeans and thermals arent enough. And as the wife wants children eventually, (My children

, will not take another ride like that, as changing colors is a bad thing). So been looking on websites finding a pair of extra fat sizes to wear.

I have a pair of First Gear over pants that I like a lot. They are waterproof, yet breathable and have removeable padding in the knees and hips.

I got my First Gear stuff in friday and I can't wait for the temps to drop again just to try them out. Kilamanjaro III jacket and the HT over pants.
I also called HJC to get some parts to repair my wifes helmet{HJC CL14}, she broke the hinge mechanism. Do ya know they sent me the repair parts free! How cool is that? I also inquired about the breath box and they sent that too, also free of charge. With service like that they will keep me as a customer for a while. So between the riding suit and the breath box...I should be good to go this winter.

You will like the Kilimanjaro jacket Brian. I have the same set-up as you. It takes a little more time to put on than say an Aerostich suit, but the First Gear apparel I have is very water proof.

Well, I'm sure the Kilimanjaro is a nice jacket, but it ain't leather. I'm looking for a really good leather jacket, and I haven't found anything that has all the armor I'd like. The closest I've seen are 2 Dainese jackets, but they need an additional backplate. Still, they're one of the few jackets I've seen that come close:

I just wear my Columbia outers over my leather. I ride regardless of temperature and I don't have any problems with my set-up. Warm and protected.

That's what I'm was trying to state. First Gear has leather riding gear too....probably more leather than textile. Go to the site and give them a gander.

And most of the curves are really just bends in the road. You have to appoach triple digits to make it into a curve. Lol
