Well the great thing is that you knew God was watching over you and perhaps there are some lessons learned there. Ill say a prayer for you as well. The bike doesn't seem look that bad, perhaps it's repairable and in the process you'll better understand what went wrong with the brakes. Just a recommendation but if you do decide to buy a touring bike I would do allot of research before buying the C14 as it has a laundry list of issues and recalls which include towing and walking. Consider the B1250 as it makes a far more reliable tourer with bags, not to mention economy and value IMHO.
