Hi Paul,

thanks for the welcome. Yes I know Carlos, not personally though, but I see his posts frequently in the Spanish board.

Hey all, have recently upgraded from a CBR 250 to a Bandit 1200s...

Have just discovered this board and it looks really helpful for tech questions, bit short on the Australian riders though!

Have just done my first big tour on the beast last weekend, 700km stopping only for fuel...

Any riders local to Canberra floating around??
Cheers,
Woody

Welcome Woody,

We don't have a lot of Aussies.....but the ones we have are 'vocal', particularily when it comes to  topics about footie, (all types) and sheep.

Woody - the main problem is that we haven't found a reliable translation service for the Aussies yet!   :stickpoke:

Wicked, thanks for the welcome guys!

I'll try to translate Aussie english into something universally recognised when I post - shouldn't be a problem (me thinks...).

Just another new member signing in to introduce myself. I've read the messages and benefited from the tech infor for a couple years. Enjoy the site very much and appreciate the work gone into it. I have about 11K miles on a stock 1200S. Enjoy commuting and weekend cruises around the NW Washington area. Thanks to all participating.

G'day from Kiwi land. I have just seen the light and traded my 2005 VT 750 Shadow ( a little under powered for my liking ) for a new 2005 B 12. Man this thing is great. Just completed first 100 miles and haven fallen in love all over again. Need to say thanks for such a great forum and to all you guys who post topics. Reading the infromation on this site helped me decide to join the masses. Hope I can be the same help to someone someday.

Bikes are easy compared to this computer stuff.  Thanks for placing my post in the right area.  Will get the hang of things as time goes on.
Taken over by the dark side. Now riding a CB 1300 but visit my old bandit regular.

Been checking out the website for a couple of weeks now...felt good enough about what I had read to purchase a barely used (5k miles) '02 Bandit-S.  It has some little things...heated grips, cruise control, Zero Gravity windscreen, full Micron exhaust...somebody really loved this B12, so now it's my turn
I won't say how old I am, but I owned my first street bike back in the mid 70's till a buddy I rode with was taken out by a woman pulling on to the highway in front of him; she said she never saw him but it killed him.
I wanted a bike that was big enough to catch a drivers' attention, have a comfy seat from the factory, (my other ride is a YFZ450..ouch!) easy to work on, with some reliability, not a crotch-rocket, but not a police cruiser either (I looked at a BMW1100RTP)  Now I heard about all the oil burner hubbub so that won't catch me off guard, and I can change pistons if it becomes necessary.  Anyway, hats off to you guys and all your input ideas and advice.  I won't be contributing much, but I'll be reading up a storm. :thanks:
I do a lot of ATV'ing Riding the dunes on the Oregon Coast, and running the tracks in Eastern Washington.  Won my first Hare Scramble this summer for the Open Class..just got lucky :beers:
I was drinking at the time...so ya, I mighta said that.

Hello everyone.  I'm new to the group.  I just purchased a 2005 Suzuki 1200 Bandit.  I had a 2001 Bandit way back when and traded it off, but over time I realized what a great bike it was.  Sooooo, I bought another one.  The Bandit is my favorite all round bike of all time.  I've owned everything from cruisers to a hayabusa and the Bandit is the best.  I also have a Cow 9R which is fun too.  Lets get together and ride sometime!

Bill, the forum crashed a couple of times in the last 6 months, and all members were 'ejected'.  (It wasn't just a 'canadian sidecar jockey' purge.)

Wecome back to the fold, Warren!

FART....watch out, we have a good handful or riders on the board in your area.  One claims he does off road stuff in a jeep, but I think he just runs around town with big tires and scares old ladies in Buicks.... :monkeymoon:

Thanks for the Heads-up PeteSC!
We could use a few less Buicks on the road around here anyway.  I'm guessing that the B12 may have been owned by a former member of the website...
