I'm in OKC. Have some relatives in Wichita Falls.  Remember passing through and stopping at the Dixie Maid in BB for a burger and a cone on the way down to visit them (been awhile though).

Hello, i hail from tennesee. I currently ride a 2003 600 bandit, but am looking to go to the 1200, when the wife and money allow it. =)

When I see a new username that isn't 'obvious', I study it to see if I can decipher any hidden meaning.
  This one was easy.... :beers:

Just looking for some info on the B12S.  Cool board, I found it right here.

Hey all,

Okay, so I don't ride a Bandit, but I'll be working on one for a while.  My wife's friend is purchasing, for her first bike, a 2000 Bandit 1200.

My wife and I have repeatedly informed her that we won't enjoy scraping her remains off the side of I85, but she won't be disuaded.

I'm registering here because I know she'll be coming to be for maintenance and stuff on her bike and figured I'd take advantage of the wealth of information (and share whatever I can as I gain experience on this bike).  While I'm a web engineer by trade, I'm attending Dekalb Technical College (here in Atlanta) and doing their night course for "Motorcycle Service Technology".

I took her new purchase out for a test ride the other day and ... wow ... the power on these bikes is just amazing.  I normally ride a cruiser (albeit a 1500cc one) and my wife rides a SV650 ... but there's just no comparison.  The feeling of having that much power at my control was intoxicating.

So, that's it, just wanted to say 'hi'.

Nah ... :)  My wife wants one though ... she's the nutso sports rider.  I prefer the cruiser style of riding ... don't get me wrong though, I fully appreciate the sport style.  I borrow her SV650 at least once a week, just to be "one with the bike" (which, in my opinion, is a very un-cruiser like thing).

... and hey, I get the benefit of taking my friend's B12 out for "test rides" after I'm done working on it.

Gino, if the lady hasn't taken an MSF course...PLEASE push her into it!
Convince her she needs to take some sort of course.  There used to be a 'ladies only' bike school based at Toosies.
I'd hate to see your friend get hurt on her bike, and riding in the Atlanta area, on a powerful bike, it's real likely!
I'm convinced most lady riders aren't as idiotic as guys are.  Maybe she has some experience.....but I'd rather see her trash a DR200 in an MSF class, than a b12 on the street!

Well, there've been a few folks who've used B12's for cruiser purposes.
