Let me have good manners by saying welcome aboard to new arrivals and that you have come to the right place and where the name Bandit Alley implies exactly the character of this site.

Hey everyone.  I ride an '02 600S.  Have had it since it had 0 miles on the odometer in 2002.  I love the bike, but have learned it isn't the best for road trips...  :duh:

Anyhow, it gets me back and forth to work and when I get the chance I take it up to the hill country for some twisties (north of San Antonio).

I'm a recovering Jeep addict, so my Bandit hasn't gotten much attention over the last 5 years (only 9k miles!).  The Jeep is gone, so now it's time to have a bit more fun with the Bandit!

- Eric

Sure, the Bandit's not as well suited for road trips as a Gold Wing, but with a few selective touring oriented mods, it does pretty well.

Another Jeepoholic, huh...  :congrats: Well, you must not have it real bad.
I notice you use the word "Jeep" in its singular form.
I haven't been able to do that in over a decade.

I had to choose my toys.  I hadn't wheeled in months, but I ride my bike (at least to work) regularly.  On the days I don't ride, I wanted something smoother and quieter than the bike, that's for sure!

I will own another Jeep.  It's just a matter of when I can afford to buy one as a toy instead of my DD.  As for touring mods for the Bandit... well, that's what I'm hoping to find here!

The only thing I have to compare to my 05B12 for road trips is  my previous 82 KZ750 M1 Cruiser, everything you ever wanted in a Norton or Triumph twin. Never the less I could only take 50-60 mile at a time before I had to pull over and rest my aching and buzzed out back, legs, arms and butt. The GS650G was a bit better but not much and I was in my 30's then. Now I am in my vary late 40's and the B12 is like a heavenly bike to me limited only to gas refill stops which seem  more annoying then an excuse to rest. There is a big part of me that argues against buying up as I am very pleased and impressed with the bike, that coming from a very critical person. So much so that if I do decide to buy up I know its going to have to be a broad jump for me not to be disappointed. A very tall order since this bike works so well as a multipurpose machine with morphable retro looks to boot.

hi all!

just lurking here a bit. i really like the looks of the 1250 and am considering the purchase. i currently ride a DR650, (slightly modded  :bigok: ) and i love it. most smiles per mile than any bike i've ridden. but, i miss the pull of a liter bike.  my last 2 were a zrx1200 and zzr1200. i'd buy an fi zrx in a heartbeat but mamma kaw isn't building it and the zx 14 is out of my price range. i like the total package on the 1250 and i can still keep my DR for serious play...

My introduction
« Reply #473 on: April 02, 2007, 11:24:48 PM »
My name is Robert and I am in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area.  I bought a 2001 b-12 this winter as a hold over bike while I looked for a Blackbird.  I have had so much fun messing with it that I have since bought 2 more and forgot all about the Blackbird.  I now have an S model, a converted S model (euro look) and a Naked model all 2001.  The original idea was fix up and sell, but I must admit parting with any of them will be tough.  Until I stumbled across this site I was on my own and thank God I had three examples to use as a reference to fix each other.  Thanks for letting me be a part of this and for all the tech that I have managed to put to use.  I have learned a few things along the way and hope to contribute back to the board very soon

:welcome: Brad & Robert!

Hey, Brad,
I've only been to 34 of the 50 states, and WI is one of the 16 I haven't been to,
but that pic you posted doesn't look like what I figured WI would look like... where is that?

I thought that might have been CO. I had typed that in my quiery, then deleted it. I lived in Colorado Springs for several years as a kid and have visited a few times since.

Hi all, my name is Pod.

I have owned many many bikes (mostly Kawi) until 99 when I purchased a 92 GSX-R750.

Then in 02 I bought an 01 GSX-R1000 and then sold the 750.

Then in 04 I sold the 1000 and bought an 01 GSX-R600 to tone things down a bit.

In January of this year I sold the 600 and bought an 00 Marauder 800. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!

I'm not as old as I thought....so 2 weeks ago I sold the Marauder and have ben looking for a B12 ever since.

I won one on ebay last night and I am going to pick it up Friday morning.

Hopefully you folks will be seeing a lot more of me in the coming months.
