Some New Mods
« on: March 10, 2008, 10:05:34 PM »
I'm getting ready for better riding weather and did a few mods this weekend.

Powerbronze shield - I ordered it direct because it saved a buck from eBay. (I'm a cheap bastard) It was at my door in 2 days. I didn't get a chance to ride with it yet but it is much heavier than the Zero Gravity and the shape is different so we'll see how well it works.  http://www.superbikestore.com/

I also added the K&S flush mount turn signals to the front.Part # 25-8022.  I drilled 2 holes in the fairing and used the longer bolts and washers provided. I may go to fender washers to make it better. http://www.kandstech.com/index.php?page=flushmounts

Here are some pics. ( I think.)

it looks like the Secdem that I have on my Gen 1.  It offers a little better wind protection but it does buffet pretty badly over 120 mph.  The stock w/s is smooth past 135.......it's really a big difference.

I;ve put about 100 miles on the shield and like it. No buffetting, whistles or the like. But then I rarely see 120 much less 135. At hiway speeds there's no touble with trucks. Being short at 5'8" probably helps.
