jwalters and I spent saturday at an NHRA drag strip about an hour from town. $10 to get in and watch the fun; rail cars, old muscle cars, a grocery-getter, an F-150, a Chrystler 300, a wenkel-powered coke machine
, and a good handfull of bikes. Some were actual drag bikes, and others were not far from stock crotch rockets.
Here's the fun part, for $25 you can race what'choo got. I'm not sure of all the restrictions, but they seem much less strict than at a track-day. Basically, you just need a helmet and a leather jacket. Again, I'm probably simplifying a bit.... I've been thinking in spans of quarter miles ever since, wondering how my slightly tweaked G1 would fare.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of stuff? Sure looks like a blast, and
relatively safe (start at your own pace, etc.).
