Good motorcycle stores in NY/NJ?
« on: May 18, 2007, 08:51:35 AM »
Can you recommend any stores in NY (Manhattan) and NJ with good selection and deals on motorcycle gear, parts, aftermarket equipment, etc.? I'll be spending a week in Big Apple and would like to make the most of it (some stuff is really overpriced here in the Great White North :( ). Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Well, the shop where I bought my bike is in north Jersey and has a fairly good selection of Jackets, Pants, Boots, Helmets, Gloves and some Bags, but I don't know if they're much of a deal. If you feel like taking the ride, it's Pompton Honda/Suzuki on Rte. 23 North in Pompton Plains NJ. About a 1/2 hour from NYC. Phone: 973-839-1117.

Thank you very much Bob. Most of the bikes I see here in NYC look like they haven't been maintained very well (a gross understatement :) ), so I don't think I'll find anything on Manhattan.

No problem. NYC is not kind to motor vehicles of any kind. Most people I've known that ride in the city look at their bikes as a way to get around traffic and just beat the heck out of them, where as those of us in the suburbs ride hard, but take great care of them. Happy hunting!

I have not live in NYC for 23 years.  I used to go to Camrod a lot.  Back then, they had a big inventory of boots, jackets, pants, touring,  street, and dirt.  Plenty of accessories.  The store is upstairs on the 2nd floor.  The showroom is on the first floor.  Are they stil there?   I suspect internet sellers may have do them in.
