A sixth person would be nice to even out the hotel rooms,

Not with Paul felling trees with that diesel powered chain saw he has. He gets his own room and we split some of it with him.

Going to crater lake? Never been there.

Good news (for me at least, I not sure who's sharing with Paul!) I have a buddy coming along, so there will be six of us.

As far as Crater Lake, sure, we could go there. The road up and around is nice, going North out is not so good, but I'll Map it out as an option, and we can decide later. I've been there at least 4/5 times, but it is pretty cool really.

Good question. I assumed that there must be a hotel close by your place, so I did the route up starting in Battle Ground. It looks like there is a Best Western in town, and I will try and book there. If not, Vancouver, Washington is only a short hop, and we can still meet you in Battleground.

Everyone one OK with meeting at the Best Western in Battleground, even if we don't stay there? I would suggest meeting at 7:45 Pacific, with a depart expectation of 8:00 AM. So be fully fuelled and ready to go at the Best Western at 7:45 for pictures!!

Everyone can relax, the threat of having to share a room with me must've made my co-worker decide to back out, so it looks like we're back down to five.  Thanks for scaring him off guys.  :stickpoke:

Seriously, I think it was pressure from his girlfriend (who is also one of my co-workers).  I heard rumors she was saying something along the lines of, "So you'd rather take a week off and spend it with Paul instead of me?!"

No need to book a hotel room in Battleground or Vancouver. Unless you really want to. I have plenty of room for everyone to stay here.

I will be staying at Casa de Tepedino.  :thanks:

I'd suggest we all plan on meeting up there Sat. night. Red, I'll work out the meetup time with you to ride down on Saturday. Not sure I'll be able to leave in the morning, so departure time to head down to Battleground is still TBD for me. Maybe noon? Pmack, what route are you guys taking down?

Hi Bobcat

At this point, planning to overnight in Republic on Friday night, and then down the Grand Coulee, then likely I-90 to Ellensburg, Yakima, Hwy 12 to Randle, CR25 & 90 past St Helen's Hwy 503 to Battleground. If we make it past Republic, then we might go to Wenatchee and take Hwy 97 to Ellensburg, and avoid the I-90 thing. This is preferred, but it is about an hour longer, so depends where we overnight.

If you and Red are taking Hwy 20, or 2, then coming down 97 we could meet up in Ellensburg. I'll text you an ETA once we're underway on Sat morning. Likely somewhere between 12:30-2:30 PM. We could have lunch and wait for you...it you get going!!

Arrived home in wet gear, but dry inside, at 19:54, Pacific.
Had a great time, discovered some great roads, goat paths and bunny trails.  :bigok:

Again, not many pics, but what I took are here:

Thanks for the ride guys. It was great fun, a little painful but great fun.
Thanks especially to you Paul Mackie for the guidance and route planning. I would not have been nearly as fun with out that. You are truly the nicest guy even though I ribbed you the whole trip.
