PNW trip this summer? (2013 version)
« on: June 25, 2013, 01:08:04 PM »
Looking at getting together with Bandit Alley friends for a PNW ride.
Tradition has it in August for 4-5 days.  Thinking about western OR this time, but open to ideas if interested parties have any.  Actual dates still open for discussion, too.  Riding a Bandit for this event is optional (obviously, since I don't have one anymore).

Aug 8-12 time frame might work out best for me...I have family in from Hawaii earlier, and possible track day later. Let me know, and I'll see what I can work out. I was bummed to miss last year...

The John Day area of Oregon is always great, we did Hwy 206 into Condon and Fossil to Antelope on this years Cali trip. I have done a bit of NW Oregon, some nice stuff there as well, and a little bit South and West of Eugene, but there is a bunch I have not done, so that all sounds good.

I'll do my best to work it into the schedule. The Sprint got new Racetech suspension this year, so a little tighter now.

Sure we couldn't stretch SW OR into NW CA?  I've been itching to ride CA 36 ever since I learned of it.
It's sign tops the 77 mile warning on US 12 over Lolo Pass.

Whoo Hoooo. I am alive and busier than a 2 peckered billy goat.
I have two cousins here from the 5th to the 15th. It would be nice to go 15 to 19 or somewhere near there.
I never have though there was much in western Oregon and its too close to metropolis for our usual pace. I may be wrong. Farther south might be better. That hyw Paul is mentioning sounds great. I am up for anything.

The 14th through the 20th is about the only stretch in August that doesn't work for me. What about the week of the 26th-30th?

I'm down for Hwy 36. But you thought NE Oregon was hot in August. Not sure I'm down for 100+ in Red Bluff.  :yikes:
And I don't care if folks from MS want to come...

I don't think it's much different than E OR in August... at least not according to this:

BTW - I've invited a co-worker to come along as long as he promises to ride his C14 and not his V-Rod.

My sister & her husband just moved from the Bay Area to a ranchette just north of Chico... its about 30-35 miles SE of Red Bluff.  I could probably talk her into letting us swim in the pool and if the crowd's not too big, crash for a night.
Might be hard telling her VTX riding husband he can't keep up with us though.  :stickpoke:

When are you're trading your bike for an air conditioned sports car?
Or are you going straight to a Lincoln Town Car :stickpoke:
