Fast moving hogs....

I need a snubby .38 special or .357 as a new CCW

My P99 .40 is just too damn big.  Not a problem in the colder months, but you can't do much with in when you're wearing shorts and a t-shirt.

A little large for everyday Matt   For the hogs I would use 300gr JSP.....Manny, I believe that we all go through that downsizing process, especially in summer,  I've already passed .38, passed it on to the wife actually, and carry a Beretta Tomcat with Hydrashoks as a pocket gun or with a clipon, inside the waistband, ....I hope that we can find a good BBQ spot along The Blue Ridge..... :beers:
Pete!  carrying a .44 on your person!  Only you and Clint could pull that off... :congrats:

I have a Kel-Tech .380, the two toned green and black...hits like a big dog....fits nicely in a pocket of my tankbag.....kind of like a Bandit, a lot of bang for the buck and It's really a better buy than the Beretta.....I'm cleaning guns this morning...nothing like a little Breakfree CLP on your eggs...I just accquired two new Springfield V-16 longslides that I need to zero and it's RAINING AGAIN...thank goodness for indoor ranges...

edited to add:  did you notice that someone posted the url from hell and caused this thread to be very wide?  Must have been a big guy  :stickpoke:

Lynn, I guess they reformed for a while in 2000.   I picked up a new Charter 2000 Bulldog in .44 Special for pocket change.
A little crude, all CNC milled, but the gaping hole in the end of the barrel is enough to scare away most people!
It  shoots OK, and easy, with factory .44 SPL stuff.  I was reloading some for it, since it was not always easy to find factory ammo.
Somehow....that ended up with me buying the Marlin 1894P .44 mag carbine.....ported barrel.  Digests my hand loads...and the 'good' stuff, also!
Anybody kicking in my door at night has a fighting chance to reconsider.
I'll be busy trying to decide among a .357, .40 SW, .44 SPL, .40 SWCarbine, .45 ACP, and the .44  Mag carbine.

      (Not to mention the .22's!)

THREAD HIGHJACK!!!
« Reply #22 on: April 28, 2005, 03:15:01 PM »
Guess this is becoming a firearms thread.

The Bersa Thunder .380 is a NICE gun too, just not as compact as the Kel- Tec.  Double action first pull, then single action!  Inexpensive too.  Sweet!

I have the second gen. Kel-Tec .380 and it shoots surprisingly well for a little bug gun.  Web of my hand is sore the day after I shoot 50 rounds through it though. :boohoo:

I won't have to waste time deciding, Pete.  Kimber in .45 ACP with CorBon JHP +P for the house guest.   :bigok:

Manny, the S&W Titanium .38spl is just what you need.

Charter seems to be still in business.
Here's the Undercover.    Under $300 for a stainless compact .38.

Of course, since it's from CONNECTICUT, the quality is suspect!

(Manny used to live in CT....) :monkeymoon:

I'm partial to revolvers, since they were the first handguns I shot extensively.

            consider this thread thoroughly hijacked!

Pete,
I'm actually a big fan of the Taurus.  Particularly the 617 series.  They have some great features.
Compact 2" snubby in .357 with spurless hammer and 7 rounds!

MSRP is $400

You should be able to pick one up for $350 then.  I take it that's the blued price.
