hello to all of you here,i am an avid suzuki man,and have around twenty bikes mostly in bits but 5 OTR,I am told the above 250 statement is true,anyone here know for sure,all i know is the GSX250 S is a liquid cooled,DOHC,16V,4CYL,4 STROKE it has a 49 x 33 engine that revs to 1550rpm-that has fin shaped castings on the side of the barrel to make it look like a proper motorcycle engine.

i removed mine to make room for a 640cc moto-x engine ,but the 250 engine is such a pretty little thing i have to find a home for it..so im researching.
it,s not for sale but i,d like to know more about it.

well lads i threw the puny 45 bhp thing they call an engine into a bike for the kids,not too much to do to get the 640 ripping in its new chassis

Sounds like the Kat 250 based off the same motor as the bandit 250. Are you putting the motocross motor into a Kat 250??? Lets see some pictures!!! The gsx250s is a sexy little bike.

Not wanting to miss out on a good thing, Suzuki released another 200 1100 Kats for 1991, presumably to celebrate their 71st anniversary...! Also not wanting to miss out on what is essentially the biggest market in Japan, they also released a 250 Bandit-based Katana replica. So faithful was this reproduction of the original prototype that it even carried the stubby four-into-one exhaust system which had never actually found its way into production previously. At a distance, the 250 Katana is almost indistinguishable from its larger ancestor, the biggest give-away being the single front disc, three spoke Bandit mags, and subtly understated radiator. Ironically, the rubber found on this 250 replica is as wide as the original 1100, and when, with crushing predictability, Suzuki released a 400 replica later that year, not only did this pocket rocket have bigger rubber than the 1100, it also had bigger and better brakes. The 400 was even more faithful in its reproduction, as its wheel pattern mimicked the classic Suzuki cross-over star pattern, and it carried a black chrome four-into-two exhaust system with long tapered silencers.

sure,i,ll look at getting that done,the engine is in the frame .its a pefect fit,after re-doing the front frame rails,the motor has to sit high in order to alighn the swing arm pivot and the drive sprocket centre [which is on the right side,as opposed to the left on most bikes],ah.....austrians.

i am mainly into aircooled but have been planning this job for eaons,i have to agree the baby katana is a real sweet bike.

They have to already exist on a share friendly site, such as PhotoBucket.

hi, sorry for the confusion,i meant the pictures would go there when it,s FINNISHED,i haven,t even mentioned it on that site as yet,i have a few pictures,it,s nothing too exciting,the engine fits well,the main problem being the drive on the KTM is european =rhs,and the japanese drive there engines on the left,this was easy enough to get round,the front cylinder head steadies had to be modified to allow room for the radiators [used the katana ones]yet to decide on where to mount my oil tank ,the kickstarter will need a longer shaft if i want to use that,i would have preferred to use all suzuki components ie a drz450,but after searching for over three years gave up.the KTM is a good base motor,with a healthy aftermarket.
i hope the finnished will handle better [ohlihns ,gsxr400 usd,s] stop better [gsxr400 front]...and be easier on front tyres [as the tyre wont be in contact for as long as before]

Hopefully you document it 1/2 as well as this project! I quickly skimmed the old posts. Lots of labour. I love it.

There was another guy on the bandit 400 forum who was working on a honda hawk gt650 with cr500 motor. The honda hawk is one of the few non-suzuki's I actually like.
