Man I like this little 400
« on: August 26, 2013, 05:24:29 PM »
I have been steadily cleaning and correcting problems that I have found on my 93. It has been sitting for 5 years plus the simplicity makes it effortless to turn wrenches. Waiting on my tank and carbs to get finished and I hope to get her fired up and purring.

Got my tank back and its going to be just fine. Just need to fit a petcock and I'm waiting on the carbs. Hope to have it running new a few weeks.

What are you guys using for a fuel tap (petcock)? any alternatives to stock? Its tight right above the carbs where it sits.

I am using OEM, But SUDCO has a set up for a GS 500 with and without reserve that should work. You will have to open the hole a little with a dremel for the pingel filter.

It's ghetto, but I set my petcock on prime and use an inline fuel valve. Valve cost me $2 at a tractor store.

Update...got my replacement petcock today and installed. New small turn signals fronts mounted I have to wire them up.  I had a chance to run it a little while longer today and was able to resolve my tach issues while inside the headlight.  :bandit:
