Sprockets

I getting a new chain put on my 93 bandit. It needs sprockets but they want a lot to change them. I am ordering a 14t/46t JT steel sprocket just the stock gears are fine for me.

What size is the front sprocket nut, and is it hard to get off? I dont have any air tools and i think my largest metric is 19mm, so im just seeing what i need once i get started.

No spanner needed as the front sproket is held on by a circlip.

Where are you getting the jt sprockets from?  How much are they?

So there is no nut? How do you get the circlip off?

Cheapcycleparts.com has jt steel 14t front for like 12 bucks and rear 46t for 33 for solid or 35 for less weight rear. Bikebandit is a couple bucks more for each.

I need some bar end weights though and cheapcycleparts has ones i like.

A guy at work says that the rear may need bearings and new rubber pieces. Anyone run into that kinda issue?

The easiest way is with a circlip tool.  (Does it have a different name?)  I have pulled them out with a pair of pointy things -- awls, tiny screwdrivers, nails -- but it's a pain and there's the risk of having stuff go flying.

Dunno how your cush drive would get worn out, but bearings are normal, especially if they haven't always been taken care of.

I've always heard them called Snap-Ring Pliers.

I have a circlip tool its called a pick and i use it to remove the clip since your supposed to always put a new one on with your snap ring pliers
