So basically the webcam is the same as the GSXR400 cam?  Interesting

Sorry, I have run into a problem with the upgrade.  I will post the specs they sent with the cams tomorrow after work.  I also hope to run the bike on the dyno tomorrow afternoon and see if the running problem I have now is related to jetting or if it has something to do with cam timing or profile.  I was hoping for a drop in and gain performance like I did with my vstar, but so far I am down .5 horse and have poor throttle response.  Hopefully, I will know more tomorrow.  Sorry it took so long to post again, but I was too busy pulling my hair out to type.

I think most of you will run into problems with trying to get more power with a cam change because the stock exhaust will only make power to 12500 rpm, even with a slip on this doesn't change as its the length and diameter of the header pipes the dictates where the power is made in the rpm band. To get the most out of a cam swap you normally have to install a good pipe, bigger carbs, adjust the ignition timing and many hours of dyno time dialing everything in.

Ok, here are the results so far.  The cams threw the jetting off way more than I thought they would.  I got the pilot circuit leaned out enough that you can get the bike to rev up, but it is still way too rich on bottom.  Midrange and top end are too lean.  The power curve now at least matches what it was before the cam swap.  I think with some more jetting work tomorrow, I should have it where it needs to be.

The specs that webcam listed for these cams are as follows:

valve lift intake: .340
valve lift exhaust: .300
duration: 260 intake, 256 exhaust

I did take a caliper and measure both cams before install, but like an idiot I didn't write the measurements down so I don't remember what the difference was from stock.  I would assume webcam would know stock numbers for cams if they have this grind in there computer.  they listed this as a grind #98/15.

Ok, I now have it much closer.  I need to drop the main a little bit more, as it is a bit too rich on the top end now.  I have now gained more power throughout the rpm range, with a peak gain so far of 4.3 horse.  The problem I need to address now, is getting the slides to raise faster.  So now it is on to air bleed changes.  The motor is still pulling at 13,000rpm and that is with a stock header and m4 slip-on.

Unfortunately, I have run into some delays as it is getting very busy at work leading up to the 4th of July.  Plus, I sold my vstar and bought a crashed roadstar warrior so I have been focusing on getting the vstar ready to go away and get the warrior ready for riding.  I hope to get the bandit dialed the week after the 4th, because the warrior will be on the road then and the vstar will be gone.  One of the mechanics at the shop thought the low end issues may be as simple as a carb sync.  He said the 600 Katanas used to act the same way when the carbs were out of sync.  I will keep you posted, but it hasn't gone as fast as I had hoped.  I can't blame anyone but myself though.  Too many projects going at the same time.

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it.  That's part of the reason it jumped in front on the list, because the speedstar stage IV engine parts show up today.

No, so far it has only been on the dyno because of the bottom end issue.

I got the warrior done, and wanted to get back on the bandit this weekend, but it is supposed to be oppressively hot on sunday, so I don't know if I will be able to.
