Out of boredom the other night i decided to strip the carbs on the bandit so they'd be in top shape for when i get my hands on a petcock and can get it back on the road again.
Holy crap were they dirty.
I also wanted to ask if i should adjust the needles while i have them off as i've a new ART race can on it. anyone got any suggestions.

I might try the carb balance mod that Bandit discussed in this thread. and see if it makes any difference to the running of the bike.

How hard is it on the 250 to access the needles with the carbs installed?

Given how grody those are, you might want to clean them up first so you have a good baseline to work from... but you will probably want to raise them a little.

I'll be doing the needles tonight or tomorrow night, i've had them apart before while the carb bank was on the bike so hopefully they wont be too gunked up.
I think i'll line the tank before reassembling the fuel system, i got a petcock for it yesterday,  so hopefully my little bandit will be back on the road in a week or two.

silly question, do i move the circlip up or down to compensate for the new can.
I deduce that i move it down one to raise the needle and richen the mixture a bit, but i want to be 100% so i dont have to take the carbs apart again and risk damaging the diaphragms
