Given up - Bandit 400 for sale in UK (UK version)
« on: August 23, 2005, 03:43:07 PM »
Hey guys, I dont know if you remember me but I made a few posts about 4 months ago about a B4 which I was trying to get running.

Well time has passed and I've finally given up, after changing the Head Gasket and finding that 1 cylinder was worn and needed to be rebored.

Other then that the bike is in good shape, everything works fine and is in good order (except the worn cylinder)

I was pretty much duped with false Service documents and MOT certificate when I bought it for £800  :duh: and I've spent another £200 on trying to get it working and braided hose pipes front and back.

Problem is I'm moving to Wales in a month time to a new job in Aberystwyth and really dont have time to finish the job in between working my butt off to pay off the new house.

Anyway I was wondering if you can help me out with prices I should ask for, or if anyone is interested, could you give me a shout at cyphizer@hotmail.com

In Summary:

Bandit 400 (so I'm told) rare UK version
New Head Gasket and braided brake hoses
Good nick, tires good as new, electrics work great no problems with start up (saying all this I would probably clean out the cooling system)

Problem: Cylinder 4 looks worn and is not firing

Comes with english manual!! Wahey

I'm probably gonna only be asking around £200 for it, you think this is reasonable? I was thinking for people buying a larger bore kit for their bikes, this could be a great opportunity.

Thanks alot guys, any help appreciated

I don't know what the market is like in England, but here in the States, your price seems about right for a bike that is in good condition but doesn't run.

This is maybe a stupid question, and maybe you don't have the time to deal with it....but.....maybe you could recoup more money selling the parts?

I'm well interested, but I don't know how I'd get it from Norfolk to Leicester without shelling out another £200

Yeah you're right, but time is a bit of an issue and i dont think I can shift the parts in a month really.
I'm going to be sticking it on ebay within the next few days so if anybody wants to take a look, you're welcome to.

Argh I dont want to be doing this  :boohoo:
Half of me wants to stay here and fix it up properly since I can buy a whole new engine for it for £250, but education and uni calls....bah who needs an education!

It pains me in so many ways

Anyway take care guys
