Maniac,

I'm really sorry you're giving up on your project.  You had a very cool vision for it!  Plus, you moved the friggin' thing from FL to MN and then back again!  Now you're giving up on it????

AFAIK, USPS is cheapest.  Guessing that they are 25lbs, looks like about $114USD using Airmail Parcel Post (which is what I used to ship my D&D to millsi).

Yeah, thats about it. I hate to do it, I mean I really loved the plan, but I don't have the cash, time, or anywhere to actually do the work right now.

Thats probally pretty close on shipping... it's not cheap to ship stuff overseas

Depending on the exchange rate, it still might make sense for him.

If you want to hold onto it for another month I'd take it. Right now all my funds are tied up into track days.

Oooooh ya! I'm a track day rookie. Started last season with race school . . . bait taken . . . .then bought a B4 track bike and 7 track days this summer . . . hook set. Now all I can think about is getting back on the track or about this corner or that or why the hell I'm not faster in that double apex etc, etc, etc. It can be a disease I tell you. I'm coming to this very late. I'm 47 yrs old, I should have been doing this 30 yrs ago. :duh:

Jay, Rob, just want to thank you two.

FINALLY got those 33mm carbs installed and operating correctly. The first time I put them on, #2 leaked like a seave and was causing fuel to flow directly into the engine. I tracked it down to the float sticking that was causing the carb to fill up, then the fact that all the carbs share a common overflow did the rest, and changed the needles (wrong ones installed, the old carbs had different (thiner, longer) needles).

Today I reinstalled the carbs after verifying they didn't leak anymore. After a few false starts I got her idling at 2500RPM. From there a little more tweaking took her down to a very smooth 2000RPM idle. She's not -perfect- in that she's slow to return to idle (although she does without any 'seeking' thats indicative of air/vacuum leaks), but she runs well now. Starts right up and goes like stink! I don't know for sure if I have her jetted correctly, but there doesn't appear to be any flat spots and she is pulling nicely throughout the RPM band (surprised me, first gear rolling start and I cracked the throttle to check for bog, she lifted the front tire right off the pavement)

Now I just need to figure out how to get the old broken ignition switch out and the new one installed. Doesn't look like any kind of bolt/screw I've ever seen. Any thoughts on that?

Maniac, that's probably some sort of 'security' fastener', so it's not easy for people to swtich out ignition switches on stolen bikes.
Paul can probably steer you in the right direction when he's online......

Maniac, in order to get the ignition switch out you have to unbolt the top triple clamp, take it off the bike, turn it over and drill out the fastener that holds the ignition in place
