Too bad it's in the UK. I'd buy the damn thing right now if it was in North America.

why dont you like the gk76 valve train?
as far as i know its lighter so better suited for high reving, but since the valves are also lighter they sometimes tend to break.
so now i probably awnsered for you  :duh:
but for race-purposes titanium valves would prolly solve it.

ti valves are $100.00 a peice to be made times 16 . the valve stems on the 76 are no thicker than the ink tube in a BIC pen

So I should be looking for 88' rather than a 89?

88-89 gsxr 400 gk73a 88 is what i have twin pipes 89 had a sp model the one in the ebay pic cam out 1990- 1998 gsxr 400 gk76a it as well (now im no expert) had a sp 2 model as well made in 1992 or something had a throttle position sensor and 35mm carbs. Really i guess nothing  wrong with either 88 model had a 18" rear poo 90 plus 76 had a 160 rear all in what you like i rode a 1992 gsxr 600 race bike like that and hated the style.
