Normal running temps?
« on: July 02, 2009, 11:48:43 PM »
Just wondering how hot the Bandit should normally run when the cooling system is operating correctly.
Although the high temp light never comes on the engine putts out enough heat to make my legs pretty damn hot.

It's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.

Yes, yes you will. When riding in sub zero temps I keep my hands on the motor at at red lights...

If you really want to make sure it's ok, check that the fan works by bypassing the fan thermo switch and also test the thermo switch like in the manual. The fan on my bandit had a stone jammed between it and the fan shroud and the insides of the fan motor were corroded when I bought the bike, plus the fan thermo switch and warning light temperature switch were both dodgy.

After a ride and letting the bike sit idling for a while (5-10min?), the fan should come on. If it's not doing that, I'd guess something isn't right.
